Recently, with the rise of smart phones and tablets, many new games have been made to suit their operating systems, some of them ranking among the most successful games ever made. Most people will know of games on smart phones, such as angry birds. There are a number of implications from the shift in market that we can make. For instance, after Amazon released their android and kindle, you could say that they have taken over a sizeable portion of the gaming market. Because of this, Amazon is confident enough in their position in the market to create a new gaming console, which will be able to link with the android, smart phone operating system. They are hoping that this living room, entertainment gaming console will be able to compete with industry juggernauts, such as Sony and Microsoft. This new influx of gaming consoles from previously separate industries may well colour the way in which the gaming industry develops over the next decade.
