When we think of addictions, we don’t usually think about hobbies such as gaming, but gaming can actually be an addiction for many and this has become even more apparent since lockdown hit and more and more people found themselves at home.

An addiction is something that you cannot live without. You may feel worried or anxious at the thought of being without it and you may even get angry if you cant have it. This is how some people feel about gaming and it is important to recognise an addition and get it back under control. Many games are designed to make you want to keep playing. They will often have a big bad boss at the end of the level which needs to be defeated. They do this so you continue to play and complete the game.

Gaming can be a great way to relax and with the wonders of the internet and chat, it can be a social activity too but it is important to ensure that you take breaks away when gaming to rest your eyes. If you are finding it harder and harder to quite, then why not go cod turkey for a few days or set yourself a time limit each day.
