Video games for children

More and more children now have consoles such as Xbox, PS4 and Nintendo Switches. After you have bought the console you then need to buy additional games for your child to be able to play. Not all games that are made for these devices are suitable for children as some have a age rating of 18. It is very important that you look at the game carefully before purchasing it for your child. It will usually say on the back why it has been given a certain rating such as contains violence.

There are plenty of games out there that are age appropriate to your child so don’t be tempted in to purchasing a game just because their friends all have it without doing your own research.

For younger children, you may find that a game isn’t necessarily unsuitable for them just that it is too hard, so ideally try and watch a video review online of the game before purchasing as most games cannot be returned once opened.

Games consoles can be a lot of fun and often you can find great games that all the family can play together so everyone can get involved.
